President’s Message
My fellow IAQA members:
I have exciting news to share regarding the rebranding of IAQA. To better illustrate our great Association’s role as an experienced teacher, growth facilitator, connected advisor and a trusted interpreter, we have adopted a new logo, website, and tagline, “Clearing the Air on Indoor Air Quality.”
This change comes as we are making great strides forward. Working with our Executive Director, Stephanie Sears, the Board of Directors has finalized a Strategic Plan for the future. Our current focus is on growth through maximizing our member benefits and becoming more robust with greater influence on IAQ issues. We also are working toward an expanded chapter structure, which will help fuel Society level activities for IAQA. We are already seeing fruits of our labor in global growth with the number of international members greater than ever before. We recently established new chapters in India, Australia, Singapore, Vancouver and Shanghai.
We continue to see the benefits of our affiliation with ASHRAE, discovering more opportunities for collaboration. Examples include our role on ASHRAE’s Research Administration Committee and increased joint activity between IAQA and ASHRAE chapters.
This rebranding will clearly show that IAQA is the ONLY IAQ trade organization that connects all parts of the industry to collaborate and grow.
Connecting all parts of the IAQ industry is central to better business growth, operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction. IAQA provides the best education for all parts of the IAQ industry, translating science and standards into practice, properly informing consumers and bringing critical feedback to industry leaders. By sharing information between all parts of the industry, pushing each other forward and refining our practices collectively, all parts of the industry will grow.
I hope you will join us to learn more about our activities at our 20th Annual Meeting, Jan. 30-Feb. 1, in Las Vegas, which is co-located with the AHR Expo. You can learn more at www.iaqa.org/iaqa2017.
Additional guidance and information about the rebranding for our members and chapters will be forthcoming.
These are exciting times for IAQA as we move into our 22nd year. I look forward to working with you to clear the air on indoor air quality!
