Opening New Doors: A Special Message from the IAQA Board and Staff

We have all faced that day where we had to change course. Suddenly, something wasn’t working. We lost a job, changed careers either voluntarily or not, left a relationship, or found ourselves having to make some other major adjustment that simply wasn’t anticipated. For many people these become defining moments and an opportunity to REDEFINE our lives. We keep moving forward in a new direction, step by little step, often unsure where the path will lead us, but certain that this is the journey we MUST take.

IAQA reached such a defining moment last summer when the Board realized that the path we were on with our management company was at a dead end. As an organization, we could have simply said “that’s it, we’re done,” but the Board unanimously felt that IAQA still has an important role to play in the industry. We decided to take the hard road and chart a new course for IAQA, starting by taking control of our own administration. It’s been more of a challenge than we anticipated, but we are, step-by-step, establishing a solid foundation for a healthy organization.

Now we are focusing on our “WHY” and we need your input to help define it. Against the odds, we decided to hold an in-person 2024 Annual Meeting. This required starting the planning process from scratch, finding a new facility on short notice, creating a concept that could be pulled together in a matter of weeks instead of months, and doing all of the background work necessary to pull the pieces together in record time.

We are creating an informative program which will serve to bring us all together in an intimate group setting for technical learning, for sharing knowledge and building relationships, and for building our organization. While we are gathered in Florida, we will be offering multiple opportunities to listen, brainstorm and share ideas with our members and allies who want to help shape the future of IAQA.

IAQA has always prided itself on a strong culture of education and support for its members. This is our defining moment. Out of what was no longer working, we are now grateful for this opportunity to build the IAQA that we want for our future.
